Wednesday, July 9 is the day those Kennywood memories are made. Moms and Grandmoms will pack the picnic basket and schedule a time when everyone will meet in the grove for supper. The after work crowd will come to get their fill of cafeteria food, Kennywood Fries and Corn Dogs, and/or goodies from the picnic basket. Young girls will choose with care this year’s Kennywood outfit and young boys will save up their money to spend on games to win their best girl a prize.
Hopefully it will be in the 70s or 80s and dry…not exactly what is being predicted at the time I write this, but weather folks have been known to miscalculate. Remember to send your photos so they can be posted by emailing them to: pghlivephotos@yahoo.com.
Special thanks Al Delach who represents Verona Chambers of Commerce and made sure tickets were available, bus schedules were made, and did all the planning necessary for an excellent 96th annual community picnic at Kennywood.
